Party in the Park Makeup!

Hi guys! I'm back from my holiday, well rested and ready to go again. After I got back I went to Party in the Park, which is a one-day festival near where I live. The music was not my usual kind of thing, but I still had a good time with some of the girls from my college.

Here's the look I went with:

I used Sleek eyeshadows from the Acid and Curacao palettes, over Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. For the blue-ish sparkle I used a little of Fyrinnae City Glam: Lights of Kyoto.

Hope you are all enjoying your Summer!

Quick EOTD

Hello everyone! I'm in the final stretch of my college course now so in the next week I will be finished! Just a quick EOTD today to ease myself back into blogging (and doing my own makeup!)

All I used was TFSS, Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Zero, MUA eyeshadow in shade 12, and Sugarpill Lumi.

Hope you like it! Better posts are on their way :)

Eyes of the Day - Banana Meerkat

This look was the result of wanting to use the neglected yellows in my collection like Fyrinnae Banana Mochi. It's a lovely soft shimmery yellow, something I don't often use, as I usually want either a proper gold, or a bold matte yellow. But I think it actually looks lovely!

I also used some other soft pretty colours for this look.

Hi Fi Cosmetics So What is a beautiful pale pink with blue shimmer, used on the lid.
Fyrinnae Meerkat in the outer corner.
A tiny bit of Hi Fi In Bloom between So What and Meerkat.

On the cheeks I have Evil Shades Blush in Gossamer. I can't tell you how much I love this blusher, it's beautiful. I've been looking for something with a strong blue duochrome for ages, and this definitely fits the bill. I'll hopefully get a more in depth post up about Evil Shades and the products I've tried from them :)

Rainbow Eyes!

Hello everyone! Today I felt like playing with make-up so I attempted my own version of a rainbow eye. I know it's similar to things I have done in the past but this is my first time doing a true rainbow on the eye.

I photographed it without mascara or any black/grey first because I like how bright and 'clean' it looked, but the lashes do look a bit weird with all that fallout on haha.

In the last picture the lower lashline looks really unblended but it didn't look that bad in real life I swear!

For this look I used:

Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
Sleek Acid and Curacao palettes.

I hope you like this look!

Eyes of the Day - Hell Frozen

Hi everyone! Just a quick EOTD for you. I used some Hi Fi shadows that I feel don't get enough love from me.

I like the eyeliner actually. It makes a change having liner on the waterline for me, as I usually think it makes my eyes look too small but it looked ok today.

Here's what I used:

Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Hi Fi Shadow in Hell Frozen (lid)
Hi Fi Shadow in My Pain (crease)
Hi Fi Shadow in Journey of a Gemini (inner corner)
Urban Decay Virgin (brow highlight)
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Zero
Black mascara

Hope you like it!

Eyes of the Day - Birthday Girl

Hey all! Here's my look for today. I decided to use Sugarpill Birthday Girl because it's my birthday today (I'm sad like that).

Here's what I used:

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
Sugarpill Chromalust shadow in Birthday Girl - lid
Spellbound Cosmetics Creeper - crease, lower lashline
Sleek Oh So Special Palette Bow (matte cream) - inner corner highlight and brow highlight
Sleek Oh So Special Palette Ribbon (matte pink)- between inner corner and middle of lid

Hope you like it!

Sleek Acid Look

Last night I wanted to use my Sleek Acid palette again, I love it :) I just basically copied xSparkage's look since she made it look so cool, but it's very similar to what I normally do with it. I skipped the black though since I wanted it to be mega bright. I also just got the Nyx Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk so I was excited to try that out. I'm suitably pleased with it :)

It would have probably looked better with false eyelashes I think, but they look weird on me :s So my eyelashes look a bit pants but never mind, I love this look.

Here's what I used:

Eyes
UDPP
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
Sleek Acid Palette (yellow, orange, neon pink, raspberry, purple, light blue, green, white)
Rimmel Professional Liquid Eye Line
Mascara

Cheeks
Fyrinnae Glow Blush in Charm

Lips
Collection 2000 Lock n Hold Lipgloss in Body Pop

Hope you like it!

Eyes of the Day - Everyday Neutral

Hey everyone, this is just a quick simple look I did a few days ago. I noticed a lot of people liked the Mac post so this look incorporates some of the few Mac shadows I own. This is one of my fave combos for when I want to look made-up but quite natural. It's the sort of thing I would wear to an interview or something.

I tried to edit the colour balance to show the colours as they truly are, but it still turned out more purple than they really are.

I used:

UDPP
MAC Malt - lid
Sue Moxley silvery taupe (sorry I don't know the shade number!)- crease
MAC Embark - along upper lashline
mascara

Hope you like it. I have some of the beauty uk pearl eyeliners and a lipstick from the new range if anyone would like to see a review of those. Let me know.

The Versatile Blogger Award

Thanks so much to Vulcan Butterfly for giving me the versatile blogger award! I'm really pleased that people seem to like what I've been posting on here, especially since I just do it for fun and didn't really expect that so many people would start following me! Thanks again! Since I'm new to blogging I'm not really sure about the 'rules' for this sort of thing but it seems to me that you put 7 facts about yourself and nominate 15 other bloggers for the award. Well here goes!

1. I have a university degree in English Literature. I love reading and studying books, mostly classics. I tend to stay away from modern literature, although my favourite book is The Solitaire Mystery by Jostein Gaarder.

2. I'm a huge music fan, and have almost 9000 songs on my itunes/ipod. I love pretty much everything from early blues to pop.

3. My favourite band is The White Stripes, I saw them live 3 times, and I'm still upset that they've split up!

4. I'm also a big Christina Aguilera fan.

5. I love studio Ghibli films, particularly Laputa.

6. I work a crappy job in a supermarket.

7. Last year I went on the best holiday of my life, a road trip around south western USA.

And now 15 bloggers who I think are awesome!

1. Beauty's Bad Habit
2. Stay Beautiful
3. Glitter is my Crack
4. Snooglerat's Randomness
5. The Original QueenBMakeup
6. Lipsticks & Lightsabers
7. LipsTitsTeethHips
8. Luna Soeth
9. Silhouette Screams
10. Turtle Beauty
11. Zoffe's Makeup
12. A Brilliant Brunette
13. My Tiger Lily
14. Killer Colours
15. Cosmetic Viking

And an honourable mention for my Mum's blog! My World of Plastic.

And since I didn't think it deserved its own post, here's a quick EOTD. I've had a stye which went and came back, so haven't been able to so much makeup.

Eyes of the Day - Soft Brights

Hello everyone. This is a look I did yesterday; I wanted to use some colours that I don't use all that often, so I went for a couple of my HiFi Cosmetics shadows. I think it turned out nice, although it was softer than I expected. I find that with most of the HiFi colours I have, that they are a little sheer when used dry, but they are still really gorgeous. Please ignore the mascara under my eye, I didn't notice it til I looked at the photos *rolls eyes*.

Products Used

Fyrinnae Omgwtf (shimmery chartreuse green) - inner corner
HiFi Live Large (fuchsia with blue shimmer) - lid
HiFi Morbid Faith (medium cornflower blue with paler turquoise shimmer) - outer corner & crease

Hope you like it!

Eyes of the Day - Smoky Greens

I've been experimenting with lighting and photography techniques so hopefully my photos will start improving.

Products Used

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Dressed to Kill - lid
Dokkalfar - liner, used wet
Vetala - inner corner and crease

This looked darker in reality, and more sparkly. The Pixie Epoxy is great for dark and sparkly eyeshadows, as it gives them something to 'stick' to.

Saturday Night Brights

Here is the look I did for last night: I wanted something really bright so I did a look based on one of my favourites I've seen from a blogger. I used this one by A Brilliant Brunette as the basis, but used Sugarpill eyeshadows. The crease turned out darker than hers but I still like my version :)

Sorry about the quality of the closeups, I'm still struggling to find a decent lighting setup.

I used all Sugarpill shadows for this look, over Urban Decay Primer Potion.

Duochrome Evening Look

Today I did a look which I often do for nights out using MUA shade 12, an awesome duochrome eyeshadow. It's similar to MAC's Club eyeshadow or Blue Brown Pigment, and the best part is it's only £1 from Superdrug. It's a warm brown with a green duochrome. These types of colours look great over a green base, and today I used the NYX jumbo eye pencil in rocky mountain green to really show the green duochrome. I love duochromes for doing simple night time looks, since they look different on lid to how they look in the crease, you can just use one colour. However, I totally failed to get a decent close-up of it unfortunately, due to a lack of decent camera batteries. You can still see it in the full face pictures though.

Products Used

Eyes
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil - 624A Rocky Mountain Green
MUA Shade 12
Urban Decay eyeshadow - Hustle (from the Naked palette)
Urban Decay eyeshadow - Virgin (from the Naked palette) to highlight brow and inner corner
Sugarpill Goldilux in the inner corner
Mascara
Black eyeliner

Cheeks
Accessorize bronzer in Monaco

Lips
MAC lipstick in Velvet Teddy

Karaoke Makeup

Last weekend it was my friend's birthday so we went and did karaoke. It was really great fun, here's the look I wore for the night:

I used Sugarpill Buttercupcake, Dollipop and Poison Plum, Urban Decay Fishnet and Shattered. With Accessorize glitter liquid eyeliner in Purple Haze over black liner.

I have no idea why my eyebrow looks yellow here lol.

Yay, blogging!

So, I decided to start a blog about beauty. Hopefully it will be of interest to people! So, here's my first post, and a look using Sugarpill's Burning Heart Palette. Used over Urban Decay Primer Potion.
