I fancied doing some creative make-up this week, so I thought I'd try a glossy colourful eye. I'd done a greasy, black look before for a photoshoot, but this is quite a different look.
I'm quite pleased with how it looks, and would love to try this out with a decent photographer!
I used my own special blend of 'eye gloss', which basically consists of Vaseline and clear lip gloss. I applied that over Sugarpill Dollipop and Hi-Fi Cosmetics Live Large. Under the eye is Sugarpill Poison Plum, and Barry M Dazzle Dust in 66 (matt black).
The key to the glossy coloured eye, if you're wanting it to look neat, and not really grungy, is to apply very carefully, taking care not to drag the eyeshadow. I used a cotton bud to pat and roll the gloss over the eye lid.
Let me know what you think!

Indian Sunset
Spent my afternoon messing about with make-up, after having a morning in bed feeling ill. I came up with a slightly different version of my Halloween bat look, a sunset with birds.
For this look, I used Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk, Sugarpill Buttercupcake, Flamepoint and Afterparty. For the transition between yellow and blue I used Barry M Dazzle Dust in 93 - Block Blue.
For the birds and the eyeliner, I just used a cheap liquid liner with a nail art brush, then pressed matt black eyeshadow onto the waterline.
Hope you like it!

EOTD: Sugarpill Heartbreaker-esque
So since Sugarpill released their new shades in the Heartbreaker palette, I've been lusting after it. But as I'm trying to save money, I thought I'd check to see if I had any similar colours in my stash. Turns out I did, and although I can't compare the colours, I think they are quite close. Here's a look I did with them:
I used:
Shiro Cosmetics Banzai (similar to Mochi, but paler)
Fyrinnae Omgwtf (similar to Acidberry)
Fyrinnae Darling Misfit (similar to 2am)
Fyrinnae Parental Advisory (to darken the crease)
Sugarpill Lumi
I used Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk under the shadows to help the colours to look their brightest.
Hope you like it! P.S. don't forget to enter my giveaway to win Silk Naturals makeup! http://hues-n-blues.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/silk-naturals-giveaway-enter-here.html

All I used was TFSS, Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Zero, MUA eyeshadow in shade 12, and Sugarpill Lumi.

Detrivore Crystalline, Blue Hilite vs Sugarpill Lumi plus swatches
Hello everyone, sorry for the big break in posting, I'm afraid the quiet period isn't over yet however. I'm about to go on holiday tomorrow, so I will be having a break from everything including blogging. I will try photograph any makeup looks I do but I probably won't be posting over the next week or so.
Anyway, today I've got a quick comparison of a few similar colours that I've acquired recently. They are Detrivore's Crystalline eyeshadow, Detrivore Blue Hilite and Sugarpill Lumi.
From L-R: Crystalline, Blue Hilite, Lumi over TFSS
These colours are very sheer, so the swatches don't give that much away to be honest. You might be able to tell in the first picture that Lumi is a lot more on the green side than the other two. Crystalline is slightly more complex than Blue Hilite, which is just pure blue shimmer on a clear base. Lumi also has a lot more larger shimmer particles, whereas the other two are more of a sheen finish than sparkly.
Over Pixie Epoxy, same order.

Hope this comparison helps some of you!

EOTD: Sleek Au Naturel
Hi guys, hope you're ok. I've had a really fun week this week. Yesterday I ended up doing a photoshoot in some woods, which was a lot of fun. I can't wait to see the pictures and I will definitely share them with you when I get them!
Anyway, tonight I'm going to college and doing 20s and 60s makeup looks on a couple of friends so that will be really fun. But that means this week my face won't be a canvas, so I got to put makeup on today!
Here's the look.
What I used:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Sleek Au Naturel Palette: Honeycomb (on the lid), Regal (in the crease)
Sleek Oh So Special Palette: Gift Basket (crease and lower lashline)
Sugarpill Lumi (inner corner)
Primark black gel eyeliner
Gosh Effect Powder in Steel mixed with Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy as a liquid eyeliner
Technic iDoll 360 mascara

Experiments: Cut-Crease Attempt #1
Hello! I've been obsessing over makeup by Lauren aka queenofblending lately, and she is an expert in the cut crease look, so I wanted to see if I could do it myself! I've had a go using just simple colours and some glitter. Hopefully I will be able to do a modified version of this over the Christmas period, as I feel dragalicious makeup is totally appropriate for works do's, family gatherings and the like...
Aaand the obligatory blurry omg sparkly picture:
I'm actually really pleased with how this turned out. The lid looks a little dirty, so I would probably use a different colour other than white next time, and I'd use glitter which is closer to the eyeshadow colour. Cool as this one with reflects is, maybe its not perfect with this look.
I used:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero
Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
Sugarpill Tako
Sleek black from Curacao palette
Silvery/grey colour and dark grey from cheapo Claire's palette
White/green duochrome colour from Sue Moxley palette
No-name glitter eyeliner (as a base)
MAC Glitter Reflects Blue
Smashbox liquid eyeliner pen
Covergirl Lashblast
Hope you like it!

EOTD: It only hurts when I mauve!
Hello! Just a quick post to show you today's look and one from Saturday night. My skin is quite bad at the moment so full face shots are not looking great.
I just used Too Faced Shadow Insurance, MAC Pigment in Mauvement all over the lid, and Hi Fi Cosmetics My Pain in the crease/outer corner. I used Urban Decay Virgin as my brow and inner corner highlight. Then I used a tiny bit of elf brown cream liner on the upper lashline, and black mascara.
Sorry these pictures are a bit blurry, and the last one is horrible, but shows the makeup :p
I used:
Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
Sleek Acid and Curacao palettes
Sugarpill Dollipop and Poison Plum.
HiFi Cosmetics Morbid Faith
Sleek Suede blusher.
Hope you like these looks!

Experiments in Makeup
Hi everyone! Today I spent most of the afternoon messing about with makeup and seeing what I could come up with. I like to do crazy stuff then just wash it off, if only to play with stuff in my collection that gets neglected.
My favourite look I created today was another one inspired by Pat McGrath's work:
As you can see I tried to conceal my eyebrow, but it's still visible. It was only my second time trying this though, so I guess practise will make perfect :)
I used Sugarpil eyeshadows except for the black, which was Sleek, and the pale blue under the eye is Fyrinnae's Winter Again.
I also did another eye look which is a bit drag queen so therefore I really enjoyed!
And I also tried something which didn't turn out very well, but I'll show you anyway.
For this look I used Sleek and Nyx eyeshadows and Ardell 117 lashes.
Glitter lips!
Something I have learnt through blogging: glitter is a massive pain to photograph! Anyway, hope you enjoyed this post!

Makeup Experiment with Sugarpill
So I wanted to mess about with makeup last night, whilst looking at some pictures of the makeup Pat McGrath did for a John Galliano show. Here's what I came up with:
I think it turned out a bit like Edward Scissorhands meets the 1920s. Wish I could cover my eyebrows but it seemed a bit too much hassle. I'm quite pleased with how this experiment turned out though, let me know if it's something you want to see more of.
Here's what I used:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Sugarpill Tako (white) - all over face and eyelids
Sugarpill Dollipop (bright pink)
Sugarpill Poison Plum (purple)
GOSH Effects Powder in Steel (silver, used wet)
The Body Shop Cheek Colour in Heather Pink
La Senza Shimmer and Shine - wish I didn't use this, looks glitter-tastic
Sleek Pout Paints - Port mixed with Peek-a-Bloo
Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel
Hope you like it!
