MeMeMe Shimmer Stacks: Review and Swatches

Hi everyone. I've got a review for you today, of the MeMeMe Shimmer Stack. I have the Gold and Bronze shades, which I bought a while back through a Groupon deal.

These are packaged and presented really similarly to the ever popular Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks. I haven't tried those however, so while I can't compare the two products I will try to give you a good idea of the MeMeMe ones.

 Gold
Bronze

MeMeMe's website says:

Let your inner goddess shine with this ultimate fusion of 5 shimmer powders.

Sweep a large brush over the palette to create shimmering illumination and definition on cheek and brow bones or use each line of colour as eyeshadow.

The packaging is a very nice, matte black plastic, sturdy box with the MeMeMe logo on the lid, and product description and ingredients list on the back. Inside is 12g of the product, with a large mirror. The palette is easy to open which is nice as some can be quite fiddly.

These are pretty sheer, shimmery products, that I think are best used as bronzers or highlighters on the face. I find most of the shades to be too sheer to use on the eyes.

Swatches:

Bronze, all colours swirled together. Swatched heavily on the left, blended out on the right.

Gold swatched heavily, all colours swirled together. Could not get this to show up well enough swatched lightly.

Bronze is, as you might guess, good as a very shimmery bronzer for medium skintones, or would work as a highlighter on darker skins. I find this too dark and orangey to use on myself, but it can work to contour with, although it is a little too shimmery for my tastes to do that.

Gold could work as a bronzer on those with very fair skin, although even on my fair skin it is more of a warm highlighter. I think this would look lovely on those with medium-dark skintones to give a beautiful gold-toned highlight on the cheekbones. Excellent over a matte blush to give dimension.

 Bronze, each stripe swatched individually.

Gold, each stripe swatched individually.

As you can see, these are fairly sheer, particularly the Gold, which I struggled to make show up in my swatches. These would be good as eyeshadows if you prefer a sheer wash of colour, the lightest shade in both palettes is good as an inner corner or brow highlight though.

These have quite fine shimmer which works really nicely on the cheekbone, with no chunky glitter in sight! They blend out very nicely, and have no detectable scent.

They currently retail on the MeMeMe website and in Superdrug for £9.99. I got mine through a deal on GroupOn though, where I got £45 worth of products for £18, so keep an eye out for offers like that.

I will say that my experience of this company's customer service was not the best. I waited over a month to receive my order, and was promised a free nail polish to make up for this, which never arrived. I do feel their products are a little on the pricey side for me personally, but they are good quality and much fairer than the Bobbi Brown products they are copying.

Hope this helped!

  1. The bronze does look to be a bit on the orangey side, but is still very pretty! The gold one look beautiful and so wearable!
